Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location.
The greatest charm of this hotel is that it’s located so close to Istanbul city centre, with major attractions, eating options and shopping facilities within walking distance. The area is also well-linked by public transport and car hire is easily available. This hotel provides a perfect base for exploring Istanbul and the surrounding areas.
positive:
Great hospitality and staff.
The hosts and staff in the hotel are very friendly, welcoming and helpful, making the guests feel well looked-after and at home.
positive:
Room with a view, good lift.
Although not all of the rooms in Sultanahmet Park have perfect views, some guests was pleasantly surprised to find that their room had a great view of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia, at no extra charge. The elevator/lift is rather small, but efficient.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No tea/coffee facilities in the room.
For guests coming from the UK/Ireland, the ability to make a quick cup of tea or coffee in the room is considered to be a non-negotiable room feature. Most hotels and guest houses in that area supply the facility. Turkish hotels however, don’t necessarily supply this, which can be difficult for such guests.
negative:
Small rooms and bathrooms.
The rooms are considered small by some guests. There are also complaints about the size of the bathrooms, which are rather compact. A solo traveller who stayed here said that the twin room was fine, but would have been cramped for two people.
negative:
Breakfast staff don’t understand English.
Some of the guests coming from English speaking countries had difficulty communicating with the staff cooking and serving the breakfast because of the language barrier, and felt that it would be good if they learnt some relatable words.
