The Residence is a luxury resort located in Falhumaafushi, a pristine island in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll. It’s a secluded resort that blends traditional Maldivian architecture with modern comforts. There are 94 villas with thatched roofs that are equipped with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, iPod docks and coffeemakers. En suite bathrooms have stand-alone baths and free toiletries. Some villas are overwater and feature direct access to the sea, private equipped decks/terraces and separate sitting areas, while some have private pools. The Residence is an ideal place to stay for couples. The resort is a secluded place and has access to a private beach. The water villas give direct access for swimming, snorkelling and diving as the guests please. Villas also have private decks to chill and unwind with a refreshing drink, plus the views of the sunset are divine. This makes it a perfect romantic getaway for couples.
Staff at the resort is a class apart with regard to timely service delivery. They are polite and helpful. Guests said that they were given personal attention even when the resort was completely occupied.
All the guests totally loved the food at the resort. Meals at the resort, be it at the overwater restaurant, beachfront dining or poolside bar, were extremely delicious. On special requests the chefs also cooked made to order dishes. Moreover, there are different themes for dinner every night, giving the guests loads of variety.
The pools lack privacy as most other villas overlook the pool. Thus guests who didn't select villas with private pools faced some privacy issues.
Some guests were disappointed with the airport transfer service offered by the resort. Luggage was not looked after and the staff of the hotel at the airport did not bother to help the guests finding trolleys and loading luggage on the same.
One or two guests felt that the resort was overpriced in terms of accommodations, and food as well as beverages.
