Positive Reviews
positive:
Breakfasts are amazing.
With everything from home-made marmalade and Cornish unsmoked back bacon to kippers with butter and smoked salmon in scrambled eggs with dill on the menu; you're certainly not short of a treat or two when you settle down to eat here each morning. And, if that isn't enough, there's also handmade grilled sausages, black pudding and hot porridge to look forward to, as well as ten types of tea to choose from. Lavish to the point of being almost decadent, the breakfasts here complement the gloriously opulent surroundings of the ornate dining room perfectly. Absolutely superb.
positive:
Property is very charming.
The moment you enter the Penrose's beautifully tiled hallway you are immediately transported back to a bygone age of elegance and grandeur. Everywhere you look, from the cornicing and ceiling roses to the stained glass windows and the chandeliers hanging from high ceilings makes you feel like you've stepped into the pages of a Victorian melodrama. Evocative and charming in equal measure.

The owners of the Penrose B&B manage to make you feel like valued guests and old friends at the same time. Seriously, they have a way of making you feel so pleased to be staying with them that you can't help but feel like you must have already met them before! Wonderful people doing a wonderful job in a wonderful setting. Outstanding in every respect.
