Positive Reviews
positive:
Quiet and convenient location
Although Monticello Inn is off of a busy highway and close to the Mass Pike, very little traffic noise filters through closed windows or disturbs those who have the windows open. This adds further appeal to a place that is already a favorite because of its close proximity to shopping and eateries.
positive:
Lovely customer service
The staff are quite memorable because of their low-key yet attentive and courteous demeanor. They're always a delight to chat with, and always helpful. Whether it's needing extra amenities because of a late check-in or a sudden situation, or providing assistance with itineraries, they're a definite plus for this motel.
positive:
Cheap, reliable place to stay
Whether you know in advance that you need it, or it's short notice, this is a reliable go-to lodge. It's got the basics covered for a decent price, is clean, and located in a safe part of the area.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Inconsistent Wi-Fi and water pressure
Minor grievances abound, such as Wi-Fi that may be strong one moment, then spotty or non-existent the next. It works best in the lobby, so be aware of issues in the room. The shower and bath pressure and temperatures also tend to fluctuate.
negative:
Seems as if some people are permanent guests
Some people seem to more or less be living at the motel, which causes annoyance and frustration with short-term guests. The guests in question take up space in the lobby as if it's theirs rather than for everyone's leisure, and act bothered if you try to make use of something during your stay.
negative:
Rooms are small and need makeovers
The rooms are smaller than expected, and not as vibrant. Decor and fixtures clearly show their age, and along with faded flooring and paint, reflect the need for TLC or replacement.
