Positive Reviews
positive:
Close to many embassies
While guests did have some issues regarding the location, the fact that it was in the Miramar district, close to most of the embassies, was a major plus point to a couple of guests. It seems the hotel would suit those who do not need to be in the centre and perhaps have some business with the embassies in the area.
positive:
Decent food from the restaurant
While there were not a whole lot of compliments when it came to the food, there were some, and no real complaints to be found. Guests found the food to be perfectly acceptable for a large hotel, but also found a couple of more interesting dining options in the surrounding neighbourhood.
positive:
Very well-kept grounds
While guests seemed to have a number of problems with the hotel when it came to the rooms and interior, the gardens and exterior of the hotel were said to be very well maintained and kept in tip top shape.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Interior looking a bit tired
For the most part guests were unimpressed with the interior of the hotel, saying it was not well-maintained and was looking very tired. In their minds a full revamp would be needed to bring it up to modern international standards.
negative:
Very far from Havana's centre
While the neighbourhood was described as nice enough, the fact is that it is quite far from Havana's commercial and tourist heartland. Many guests felt a bit isolated and reckoned they spent far too much on taxi fares to get to the interesting bits of the city.
negative:
Wi-Fi is an extra charge
While guests realised that the internet was something of a luxury in Cuba, they did not feel that a hotel of this star rating should be charging separately for use of the internet.
