About Hotel Marsol
Set just 50 metres back from Lloret Beach, the four-star Marsol Hotel is a popular choice for couples on the Costa Brava.
Many of the rooms enjoy sea views from their balcony and all include air conditioning, desk, flat screen satellite TV, safe, minibar and an en-suite with bath. Sea view rooms also come complete with bathrobes and slippers.
Marsol operates a 24-hour reception; with luggage storage, currency exchange and laundry services available and, among the leisure facilities, there is a heated rooftop pool, gym and sauna.
The hotel offers several dining options; with a buffet restaurant serving International dishes, and a bar and cafe, situated directly on the seafront promenade, offering drinks and light meals.
The centre of Lloret de Mar is a five-minute walk away, Santa Roma Church is 100 metres from the hotel and most importantly, of course, the beach is just a few steps away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Ideal after-party bolthole.
If you've come to Lloret de Mar to enjoy the nightlife, Marsol could be the ideal place to stay; situated just a few minutes walk from bars and clubs, the hotel also boasts large, comfortable beds and, for the morning after, a generously-sized breakfast buffet.
positive:
Beachfront location.
The hotel couldn't get much closer to the beachfront and guests can enjoy the view from the rooftop pool, sun deck, and the bar- with comfortable swing chairs on the terrace. Want to get on the beach itself? Bring towels, or hire a lounger from one of the numerous beach vendors.
positive:
Clean and comfortable.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, with a daily maid service. Sea view rooms are a popular choice, for obvious reasons, and, for those wanting a bit more space, sea view junior suites are an alternative option.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Barely usable Wi-Fi.
Many guests have suggested that the Wi-Fi is poor, at best, with most stating that it is entirely unusable. The hotel does advertise Wi-Fi, yet some business travellers have been forced to find alternative options for internet access.
negative:
An unpleasant reception.
The first impression you get from a hotel is of the outside (fine, in this case), followed swiftly by the reception area. At Marsol, reception is accessed via a long flight of stairs; quite a challenge if you're travelling with heavy bags. Some guests have also reported an unpleasant odour emanating from the area.
negative:
Opt for a sea view.
Rooms come in three varieties; standard, sea view and sea view junior suite. For the latter two, you can imagine the view you are likely to experience. However, previous guests have been disappointed when opting for a standard room; with views across interior walls, an alleyway and windows of a neighbouring hotel the norm.
