Positive Reviews
positive:
Wonderful staff.
Staff seemed to genuinely care that guests had a great stay at the Mayan Inn Beachfront. Standout employees were found busily replenishing food in the breakfast area, and greeting guests by name. They were also noticed at the front desk, where problems were quickly taken care of, and where guests felt like valued customers.
positive:
A+ swimming pool.
A large swimming pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean was a welcome sight for sun-hungry guests. You will find plenty of lounge chairs for soaking up the Florida sunshine, and a ten foot deep end for all kinds of fun in the water.
positive:
Walk to everything.
Guests found the Mayan Inn Beachfront to be close to most top attractions in Daytona Beach. Several guests mentioned Joe's Crab Shack, four minutes away, for a lip-smacking solution to every seafood craving.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Might be a little noisy.
Guests found that rooms located in certain areas of the hotel were potentially noisy. You might experience your fair share of noise in rooms near the bustling restaurant, as well as on the side of the hotel next to a restaurant and bar.
negative:
Not a recipe for sweet dreams.
Comfortable bedding was hard to find at the Mayan Inn Beachfront. Guests complained of scratchy blankets, lumpy pillows, and threadbare comforters, and while they found bedding to be clean, they were disappointed with the older condition of hotel linens. Luckily, management is reportedly replacing these items in the near future.
negative:
Rooms in need of refurbishing.
This older hotel has seen better days, according to guests who were let down by the aging interior. Broken cupboard doors in the kitchen, worn carpet, and bathrooms in need of a total upgrade were on the list of reasons why rooms needed improvement. Rumor has it that, just as older bedding is in line for replacement, a total room renovation will soon be underway.
