Hotel Colonial Terrace (Carmel-by-the-Sea, USA)

Guests were pleased to find that they could walk to the beach within a few minutes and appreciated being able to borrow chairs and umbrellas from the inn which they could easily carry with them. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance which the guests found very convenient considering that lunch and dinner are not offered on-site. .

There is a very cozy and comfortable lounge where guests can sit and read their papers and socialize. Many also enjoyed sitting out in the terraced gardens with a few drinks in front of the open fire place. Guests also liked sitting out on their private balconies whilst admiring the surrounding picturesque views. .

Although close to downtown Carmel, the inn is tucked away and nestled within private gardens thus ensuring peace and tranquillity. Guests appreciated the peace and quiet especially in the evenings and also relished waking up to the sights and sounds of the ocean. .

Some guests objected to the lack of air-conditioning units and said that their rooms felt uncomfortably warm and stuffy. Although fans were provided, many found them inadequate when it came to cooling down their suites.

The rooms were described as being quite small by some guests who were disappointed to find that there was very little space to move around in between the furniture. Some guests said that their bed took up most of the space and found it difficult to stow away all their belongings.

The continental buffet was said to lack variety with some guests stating that they would have preferred some hot dishes and a better choice of fresh fruit.
