Positive Reviews
positive:
Friendly accommodating owners.
The owners of Burlington Quays have worked really hard in building a good reputation and have built strong relationships with guests that return time and again. The owners are warm and friendly, very down to earth and give the impression that nothing is too much trouble for them.
positive:
Clean and tidy rooms.
Rooms are surprisingly roomy and all the furnishings are in good condition and clearly well-maintained. Rooms are very clean which includes the en-suite bathrooms and decorated in a more traditional English B&B style.
positive:
Great breakfast, clean facilities.
The breakfast choices available at Burlington Quays should satisfy most with a choice between a continental buffet and a hot full English breakfast. The hot breakfast is made to order from local ingredients and served in a very clean and tidy breakfast room.
Negative Reviews
negative:
In-room TV's small.
A minor point for most people visiting the guest house has to do with the size of the flat screen televisions included in each room. Although all are digital flat screen TV's, they are all on the small side when compared to the type of flat screen TV's available at most other establishments.
negative:
Limited range Wi-Fi.
The free Wi-Fi signal simply isn't strong enough to be usable on the third floor. However, the signal is usable on the second floors as well as the rest of the guest house. If Wi-Fi is important, consider booking on the ground or second floors.
negative:
Overall décor a bit dated.
The overall
décor throughout the guest house including common areas, bar lounge, stairs,
guest rooms and en-suites can be considered to be quite dated. This is
especially true when compared to more modern hotels or even affordable
chain-hotels.
