Hotel Base Brisbane Central (Brisbane, Australia)

Base Brisbane Central is a hostel in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. Located in the city centre, the hostel is close to many of Brisbane’s attractions, cafés, restaurants, bars and shopping facilities. It is also a short walk from the Brisbane River and less than 25 kilometres from the beaches of Australia’s eastern shoreline. The hostel itself, formerly known as Palace Backpackers, is a heritage listed building. There are several forms of accommodation available: double, single and twin private rooms, and either mixed or female only four, six, eight and ten bed dorms. An electronic secure entry system is in use for all rooms and lockers are available for guest’s valuables. There is a sun deck on the roof which hosts a barbecue. Other facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, a travel desk, a TV lounge, laundry facilities and a 24 hour reception. The hostel also has its own bar, the “Down Under Bar” which is open to general public, which has a dance floor and serves food and coffee.
