    positive:

    Interesting, friendly owners.

The owner is very interesting and friendly and displays a great deal of knowledge about the history of the property as well as the surrounding area. Staff in general are warm and relaxed, easy to talk to and display a great attitude towards providing excellent and personal service all-round.

    positive:

    Lively pub atmosphere.

The pub oozes rustic charm and offers a delicious menu of traditional English pub favourites as well as genuine handcrafted ales. A great blend of locals and guests makes for an interesting, warm and friendly experience.

    Negative Reviews

    negative:

    Choose rooms wisely.

Rooms directly over the pub are more open to noise from the pub on busy nights. Light sleepers or early risers should avoid these. There is also a designated outside smoking area and the rooms above this area can attract drifting smoke through the windows, those sensitive to smoke should avoid these rooms.

    negative:

    Busy parking.

The onsite parking is free to both guests and outside visitors to the pub and on busy weekends or special events the parking area can fill up very quickly. This could be a problem when returning to the accommodation and not being able to find a parking spot.

    negative:

Bathrooms may be small for some.

The en-suite bathrooms may be a bit on the compact side for those more accustomed to larger hotel-style en-suites. On a more positive point, the en-suites are very clean and well-maintained.
