    Where today the Pension Am Waldesrand is in Ilmenau, was once a popular resort for the railwaymen of the former DDR. In 2001, the closing of the home came into view, and it was sold by the railway in 2002. After significant renovations the accommodation has re-opened and become a real pearl of the recovery. The quiet guest house (all accommodations are located in bungalows) is located high above Manebach, surrounded by nature in the Thuringian Forest, near Ilmenau. Enjoy the unique surroundings by going hiking, mountain biking or cross-country skiing. Also for guests with cultural interests, the area offers many interesting sights. Ilmenau has an excellent heated outdoor pool. After breakfast you can explore the beautiful surroundings at your leisure. During the day you can spend time in front of the fireplace.
